This simple instrument is commonly used for testing the adhesion of a coating via ASTM D3359: Standard Test Method for Measuring Adhesion by Tape Test. Specifically, this cutter is used for Method B - the lattice method. It is recommended for use with coatings up to 5 mils thick. It is also acceptable for use with ISO 2409.

This instrument is used for quickly determining the adhesion of a large number of paints. The blades are disposable and can be replaced using the Allen wrench included in the kit.

When used as recommended in ASTM D3359, two series of lines are cut at right angles to obtain a pattern of 25 or 100 squares depending on the thickness of the coating. Then a strip of tape is applied and removed resulting in a quick, inexpensive adhesion test.

The Basic Kit includes Cross Cut Cutter Handle, Cutter blade (choose blade desired from drop-down above), Allen wrench, plastic carrying case and operating instructions.

The Full Kit includes everything listed in the Basic Kit as well as Adhesive Tape (ISO or ASTM), Eye Glass and Brush.
